JOB DESCRIPTION · WINDFIRE PLATFORM HELP DESK
Support Technician
Support Technicians help manufacturers use WindFire ERP, the manufacturing ERP from AI Inventory Pro. You answer customer questions on the WindFire platform help desk, train in the WindFire Support Academy and grow through seven support levels. This is a remote, independent contractor engagement.
What you’ll do
- Answer customer questions in tickets and chats about WindFire ERP: jobs, scheduling, inventory, purchasing, accounting basics and quality.
- Reproduce reported problems and report bugs to the WindFire team with clear steps.
- Guide customers through tasks with screen-share sessions.
- Write clear ticket notes so anyone can see what was asked, what was done and what comes next.
- Never change customer data without the customer’s permission.
What you need
- Clear, friendly written and spoken English.
- Patience and a methodical approach to solving problems.
- Comfort learning business software and explaining it to others.
- Some experience in customer support, a help desk or a similar role.
- You are based in the United States and can provide a Form W-9.
- Completion of the Support Academy core courses during onboarding.
Nice to have
- Experience in a machine shop, fabrication or other manufacturing business.
- Experience with an ERP, accounting software or a help desk tool.
- Familiarity with inventory, purchasing or quality inspections.
- A second language.
How pay works
- A daily rate of $100 to $150. Your rate depends on your Support Academy level, and your total depends on the days you work.
- You are paid as an independent contractor and invoice through WindFire’s payout system.
- You are responsible for your own taxes. You provide a Form W-9, and you receive a Form 1099-NEC when required. No taxes are withheld from your payments.
Advancement
The WindFire Support Academy has seven levels. As you pass courses and meet quality metrics, you move up a level, support more WindFire modules and earn a higher daily rate. Contractors at the top levels can become escalation leads, taking on complex tickets and helping newer contractors.
Schedule and equipment
- Your own computer with a current web browser, and a reliable internet connection.
- A quiet place to work where customer information stays private.
- You set your availability. Work depends on customer demand, and no number of days or hours is guaranteed.
